Shāntipuram: A Living Manifestation of the All Embracing Sanātana Dharma

Establishing a Global Abode of Peace in Greater Houston by 2030
Shāntipuram is envisioned as a spiritual campus of pristine purity, away from the noise and distraction of modern existence, in the suburbs of Houston; here, the principles of harmony, service, and worship are integrated into daily life to provide a way to self-realization.
A Vision for Shantipuram in Greater Houston, USA
Build an Everlasting Abode of Dharma, a Home for the Divine.

Join us in establishing a spiritual sanctuary where Sanātana Dharma thrives in a modern community.

Shāntipuram
Shāntipuram will be a self-sustaining ecosystem that restores the human spirit and uplifts it to divine greatness. Seekers from all backgrounds are provided with a conducive environment where they can congregate, find deep belonging, and reconnect with their highest purpose.
Sacred Components
Spiritual Retreats, Meditation, and Sadhana
Shāntipuram is the place to come together and attend spiritual retreats, and participate in prayers, meditation, Bhajan-Sankirtan and Satsang. One is given every opportunity here to introspect, reflect, reorient and recharge in a stillness that is otherwise lacking in the noise and restlessness of the external world.
Youth Outreach
Shāntipuram heals focus fractured by digital distractions in children. Through immersion in Satsang and service in the Goshala, orchards, farmland, and the Temple, children and youth shed self-absorption and modern deracination for caring, empathy and groundedness. This sacred landscape forges resilient youth firmly rooted in Dharma.
Community Farming
Community farming is a sacred practice of self-sufficiency and service that nourishes both body and soul. This immersion in nature provides the inner grounding necessary for learning and growth. By cultivating a humble reverence for Mother Earth, one guides awareness back to the innate nature of the Self.
Weekly Prasādam Distribution
The offering of food (Annadānam) is integral to Sanātana Dharma. Annadānam, standing among the highest forms of giving, nourishes body, mind, and heart while fostering unity in diversity. Weekly Prasādam (sanctified food) will be offered at Shāntipuram without condition or distinction.
Goshālā and Reverence for Life
The cow, as the mother of the universe and the dwelling place of all divinity, sanctifies the surroundings. In the Goshālā (home for cows), diligent care of cows is undertaken with supreme reverence and devotion.
मच्चित्ता मद्गतप्राणा बोधयन्तः परस्परम् ।
कथयन्तश्च मां नित्यं तुष्यन्ति च रमन्ति च ॥
Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 10, Verse 9
When minds and lives are centered on the Divine, people find joy in sharing, remembering, and uplifting one another through constant connection. At Shāntipuram, this comes alive through भोजन, भजन, भाषण, भ्रमण —where sacred nourishment, devotional singing, meaningful dialogue, and inner exploration bring seekers together in shared joy, reflection, and spiritual growth.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Our sanctuary must first secure the land. Join us to nurture this ecosystem for generations to come.
The Spiritual Core: Srī Shyām Sundar Jagannatha Temple
Shāntipuram’s heart is the Srī Shyām Sundar Jagannatha Temple, a sacred space where the rare unification of two profound expressions of devotion, the intimate and the open, reveals a universal experience of the Divine.
These apparently distinct parallels emanate from and converge in the Divine Infinite. This union instills a stability that is uniquely dynamic; a profound stillness that simultaneously pulsates with eternal, ecstatic celebration in an inconceivable (Achintya), integral (Abhinna), and inseparable (Abheda) state.
Srī Shyām Sundar
The intimate, beautiful, soul-stirring presence of the Divine
Lord Jagannātha
The Universal Lord who transcends boundaries and belongs to all
The Temple embodies eternal principles of unity, harmony, and inner awakening, expressed through devotion, service, and collective spiritual life.
This is an illustration of future Srī Shyām Sundar Jagannātha Temple in Greater Houston, USA. While Shyām Sundar is the presiding presence, the temple further honors Jagannātha, Balabhadra, and Subhadrā; the Navagrahās; and the Panchadevatā Ganesha, Surya, Shakti, Shiva, and Vishnu. The inclusion of these deities ensures the temple stands firmly in the wholeness of Sanātana Dharma and remains open to all venerating and sincere seekers.
ऊर्ध्वबाहुर्विरौम्येष न च कश्चिच्छृणोति मे।
धर्मादर्थश्च कामश्च स किमर्थं न सेव्यते।।
Sage Vyasa lamented I scream with my arms stretched upwards, "Dharma will lead to prosperity and fulfillment, so why don't you follow Dharma?" Yet, nobody listens to me!
The journey in Sanātana Dharma progresses from earnest intention to concrete action. Participation purifies the heart, elevating mere engagement to a spiritual experience of true belonging. Sincere contribution catalyzes the seeker’s growth, illuminating higher purpose.

Do not wait for the temple to be finished before beginning your worship. The offering you make now will help bring this sanctuary into being, even as it quietly blossoms within your own becoming.
Step forward! Let your participation pave the path for others.
Our Roots: Lineage of Divine Love
By establishing Shāntipuram, we continue the vision of Vijay Milan Math, bringing the eternal principles of unity and inner awakening to the United States through the living mission of Vijay Milan Center USA.
Our foundation rests upon the spiritual direction of Paramahansa Parivrājakāchārya Srī Srī Swāmī Abhedānanda Saraswati, disciple of Sadguru Paramahansa Srī Srī Swami Advaitānanda Saraswatī (Founder, Vijay Milan Math), in the lineage of Sadguru Bhagavān Srī Srī Vijay Kṛṣṇa Goswāmījī (Swāmī Acyutānanda Saraswati).
Sadguru Bhagawān Srī Srī Vijay Krishna Goswāmījī
Our lineage traces to Sadguru Bhagawān Vijay Krishna Goswāmījī (1841–1899). He hailed from the clan of Advaita Āchārya of Shantipur (West Bengal). Lord Shyām Sundar was Goswāmījī’s family deity and also His divine childhood playmate! He was initiated by Brahmānanda Paramahansa of Kailāsh Mānasarovar and designated as Sadguru.
Sadguru Bhagawān Vijay Krishna Goswāmījī embodies the Rādhā, Krishna, and Guru principles. Though He took Sannyāsa as Swāmī Achyutānanda Saraswatī, He remained widely known as “Goswāmījī.” Addressed with awe and respect by the Pandas (priests) of Puri as “Jatiya Baba,” He was revered as the very manifestation of Jagannatha Himself.
He poured His infinite grace by initiating even householders into highly esoteric practices hitherto restricted to only the most exalted Yogis. By establishing the Divine Name on the breath of His disciples, He revealed and imparted the Divine Love and Devotion demonstrated by Srī Chaitanya Mahāprabhu (1841–1899).
Srīmat Kuladānanda Brahmachārī
Goswāmījī's disciple, hailed as His Mānasaputra (spiritual son), Srīmat Kuladānanda Brahmachārī (1867–1930) was renowned as Neelakantha and Jatāshankar. He chronicled the 13 years spent with his Master (Gurudev) in his diary under the title, Shree Shree Sadguru Sanga (In the Company of Sadguru), which is accepted and venerated as a modern day scripture by seekers. The teachings and instructions of Goswāmījī continued to be transmitted through him.
Swāmī Amritānanda Saraswatī
Swāmī Amritānanda Saraswatī was a freedom fighter of his time before Sannyāsa. He established Srī Srī Sadguru Sanga Ashram and carried forward the ideals of his master, Srīmat Kuladānanda Brahmachārī.
Sadguru Paramahansa Srī Srī Swāmī Advaitānanda Saraswatī
Born into the illustrious Choodāmani clan of Āchāryās (preceptors) in Bengal, Sadguru Paramahansa Srī Srī Swāmī Advaitānanda Saraswatī (1948–2015), received initiation at a young age from Swāmī Amritānanda Saraswatī. He assisted His father in teaching scriptures and conducting priestly ceremonies.
After taking Sannyāsa at Kailās Āshram, Rishikesh, Srī Srī Swāmī Advaitānanda Saraswatī spent nine years in rigorous penance in the montane forests of Uttarkāshi, remaining immersed in Samādhi without food, water, or even air, for up to 65 days at a stretch! He founded Vijay Milan Math in 1988 on Rishikanda Pahar in the Himalayas to fulfill the vision and prophecy of Sadguru Bhagawān Vijay Krishna Goswāmī, ("We shall meet again on a mountain").
Vijay Milan Math steadily expanded its establishment and reach over time to include branches, centers, temples most of which are equipped with Goshālās, devotee quarters, dispensaries, meditation halls, orchards — built largely by the hands of devoted followers from across the world. Today, its branches flourish in Vrindāban, Jāngipāra (West Bengal), and Premnagar (Dehrādun), alongside Vijay Milan Centers in France and the USA.
Shāntipuram is a manifestation of His vision.
Paramahansa Parivrājakāchārya Srī Srī Swāmī Abhedānanda Saraswatī
Born into the learned Mantha clan of Āchāryās in Andhra Pradesh as Bharadwaj Sastry, Swāmī Abhedānanda Saraswatī (1973–) was raised in a cultured, well-traveled environment. He first met his Gurudev, Sadguru Paramahansa Srī Srī Swāmī Advaitānanda Saraswatī in 1988, an encounter marked by a prophetic anticipation. After receiving initiation on Rām Navami in 1990, He completed his studies in Computer Science and Engineering before fully committing to the monastic path.
Entering the Ashram in 1994, He was conferred the vow of celibacy as Brahmachārī Vaikuntha Chaitanya in 1996. He served Gurudev for decades, progressing rapidly through spiritual milestones. Following His Gurudev's instructions, He formally took Sannyāsa at Kailās Āshram in 2016, receiving the title Paramahansa Parivrājakāchārya — the zenith of devotion, direct experiential knowledge and renunciation. Addressed as "Gurudev" by His disciples and revered as "Mahārāj jī" by devotees at large, His name Abhedānanda means the impregnable, unsurpassable, indivisible, and non-distinguishing Bliss.
Under His Direction, vision is taking form across the world, awakening hearts towards Divine Love and Devotion.

With fifteen years managing large-scale operations for Fortune 500 companies, Devi Prasad brings results-driven project management to Shāntipuram's ground-level execution. A disciple of Vijay Milan Math since its inception, nearly half a century ago, he embodies professional discipline, mentorship, and a deep personal commitment, along with the steadfast devotion that this undertaking demands.
The Sacred Covenant: Our Commitment to Financial Stewardship
We view the resources of Shāntipuram not as mere capital to be managed, but as a Sacred Trust placed in our hands by the Divine and our community.
Guided by Gurudev's Instructions, our board treats every dollar as a sacred seed. We recognize that success of this vast vision depends on the absolute purity of its execution. Our stewardship is defined by three pillars of integrity:
Financial Fidelity
(Deep Involvement)
Pillar 1
Restricted Allocation: Funds received toward the Seed Phase (Phase 1) are placed in a dedicated, restricted account and stewarded exclusively for the approved purposes of this phase. This will ensure the roots of Shāntipuram are established for its tree to thrive.
Pro-Bono Leadership: Our board members offer their expertise as Seva. No board member receives compensation. Contributions are stewarded with fidelity toward the sanctuary’s development and long-term mission.
Managerial Authenticity
(Professional Rigor)
Pillar 2
Institutional Governance: As a registered 501(c)(3), VMC USA operates under strict federal guidelines. Our $22M Master Plan (Phase 2) will be governed by a multi-layered oversight committee.
The Continuity Endowment: The $5M Operational Corpus (Phase 3) is designed as a "Living Fund." These resources will be protected and invested to generate the interest required for perpetual maintenance, ensuring Shāntipuram continues as a boon for generations and never a burden.
Hierarchical Honesty
(Auditing & Protection)
Pillar 3
Strict Authorization Protocols: All capital expenditures require multi-signature approval from the officers to ensure absolute accountability.
Annual Disclosures & Audits: We commit to full transparency through annual independent financial audits and quarterly "Stewardship Reports," detailing the deployment of the $22M Manifestation and $5M Continuity funds.
मयि सर्वाणि कर्माणि संन्यस्याध्यात्मचेतसा।
निराशीर्निर्ममो भूत्वा युध्यस्व विगतज्वरः॥
Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 30
Free from ego and expectation, center every action in a higher command. Then, execute with clarity and steadiness.
यतोऽभ्युदयनिःश्रेयससिद्धिः स धर्मः ।।
Dharma is that by which one is able to rise, and get the ultimate indubitable benefit, successfully.
The Moment of Manifestation of Shāntipuram has Arrived
When you contribute to Shāntipuram, you are manifesting a sacred reality. It is a divine opportunity to build a permanent abode for dharma that will serve as a beacon for future generations and establish enduring spiritual merit . Through financial offering, physical seva, and expert insights, your devoted involvement will be the confluence of your righteous efforts (Dharma), resources (Artha), and intentions(Kâma) towards God, leading to liberation (Moksha). The path to Divine Love (Prema) begins thereafter.

Which is greater — material wealth (Artha) or Divine Prosperity (Paramārtha)? True worth lies not in possession, but in purpose. Is it not the highest wisdom to dedicate perishable wealth to the service of the Sacred, and thereby share in an enduring Divine Prosperity?
Let us, together, act upon a vision that looks beyond the present.

In fact, everlasting greatness rarely waits for universal consensus. It begins with those few worthy people who respond to their calling. The actions and deeds of pioneers with faith and conviction inspire others.

The Shāntipuram Master Plan
The development of Shāntipuram is structured as a living organism. While the institution is built to stand for centuries, the transformation begins today, and its impact will outlast our generation.

$1.5M0–12 Months
Phase 2: Manifestation (The Body)
$22MYear 1–5
Phase 3: Continuity
(The Lifeforce)

Phase 2: Manifestation (The Body)
5-Year Capital Roadmap $22M: $22M builds a consecrated temple, a working Goshālā, retreat lodging, and the agricultural land that sustains it all. Every line item is accounted for, including a 10% contingency built in from the start. By year five, the Srī Shyām Sundar Jagannatha Temple is consecrated and Shāntipuram is fully operational. This is the timeless gift of our generation.
Shyām Sundar Temple
$11.5M:
A masterpiece of Vedic architecture — the spiritual Power Center in the Houston community serving humanity as a whole.
Goshālā & Agriculture
$3M:
A fully operational ecosystem — cows tended by devoted residents and volunteers, regenerative farming & horticulture that will nourish the community.
Residence & Sustenance
$5.5M:
Sustainable lodging, meditation center, and a fully equipped commercial kitchen, built to host immersive retreats and house residents year-round.
Project Contingency (10%)

Feeding people, supporting those who serve, and reaching the next generation remain funded independent of donation cycles. At a 5% annual yield, the corpus generates $250,000 per year in perpetuity. This is the floor that keeps the gates open long after our generation is gone. Fundraising, seva contributions, and community support build everything above that floor.

$0.5M corpus:
Annadānam remains a free and open offering to every seeker, decoupled from the economy.
Spiritual & Agriculture Labor
$3.5M corpus:
Stable stipends and healthcare for priests, staff, and farmers who protect the vitality of the Temple.
Outreach & Upkeep
$1M corpus:

Total Endowment Corpus: $5M | Est. Annual Yield: $250,000/yr — Perpetual Autonomy.
धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः ||
Dharma protects one who protects Dharma.
A home is built to shelter oneself. A spiritual abode, though, shelters Dharma itself.
Virtue and noble deeds might happen by accident; but they flourish on the foundation of unwavering faith. Doubt fragments and destroys. Faith illuminates and provides ultimate peace without delay.
Paramahansa Parivrājakācārya Śrī Śrī Swāmī Abhedānanda Saraswati
Vijay Milan Math; our Ashram in the Himalayas
Dharma is upheld on four pillars: Penance (तप), Purity (शौच), Kindness (दया) and Truth (सत्य).
अष्टादश पुराणेषु व्यासस्य वचनद्वयम् ।
परोपकारः पुण्याय पापाय परपीडनम् ।।
In all the eighteen Puranas, there are two common statements that define merit and sin. Welfare of others is merit. Hurting others is sin.

One's own welfare is intertwined with the welfare of others. And the greatest welfare happens spontaneously in the service and worship of the Divine.
Be a part of bringing the peace of the Himalayas to the heart of Texas.
The Entire Tree is Nourished When its Roots are Watered. Upholding Dharma is the Act of Watering the Roots of the Universe.
Shāntipuram is your opportunity to do so.

अज्ञश्चाश्रद्दधानश्च संशयात्मा विनश्यति।
नायं लोकोऽस्ति न परो न सुखं संशयात्मनः॥
Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 40
Ignorance, lack of faith, and doubt, destroy the person, rendering him incapable of experiencing joy either in this world or in any other.

मृतं शरीरमुत्सृज्य काष्ठलोष्ट समं क्षितौ ।
विमुखा बान्धवा यान्ति धर्मस्तमनुगच्छति ।।
When a person dies, his corpse lies on the ground like a piece of wood or a clod of earth, and even relatives turn away. It is Dharma alone that follows him then.

You are never too old to learn, and never too young to die.
Therefore,
अजरामरवत् प्राज्ञो विद्यामर्थं च चिन्तयेत्।
गृहीत इव केशेषु मृत्युनाधर्ममाचरेत्।।
The prudent ones work to accumulate learning and accomplish their purpose as if they are never old and live forever i.e. as if there is no end to it. And they perform acts of virtue or Dharma as if death is dragging them by their hair.

Giving & Service
  • Donate—to dissolve your debts.
  • Give for the sake of giving, not for the sake of receiving.
  • What is given when asked is charity; what is offered unasked is worship.
Action & Renunciation
  • Learn to act without conditions.
  • Do the work, then let go and move on in renunciation.
  • The work of this transient world never gets truly finished. So do not keep running after it.
Preciousness of Time
  • Such a day will never come again.
  • Do what is auspicious without delay and complete the task; while the inauspicious continues to clamor.
Inner Purity & the Heart
  • The human heart is a temple. When that temple gets filled with garbage, God disappears from sight.
  • If you wish to be pure, become free of desire.
  • Do not sully your own image.
Faith & the Divine
  • Well-being lies only on the path of faith.
  • A true devotee is one who takes refuge in God, not in sense-objects.
  • Is it wise to trade the priceless diamond of the Divine Name for the crummy coal of the mundane?
Balance & Awareness
  • If you wish to fly, strengthen both wings—don't fixate on the material; expand the spiritual wing as well.
  • God's creation has such subtle craft: whatever you do, speak, or think leaves its imprint upon nature. Nothing remains hidden—one day, it will all come to light. Be alert!
